Havana was a former carriage horse who was in an accident and broke her hip. Since she couldn’t work she was sold for slaughter. She was in terrible condition when she was sold. A local PA rescue called One Life at a Time rescued her from the slaughter truck with the intentions of euthanizing her humanely. The vet said she could be healed and for over a year they worked together to get Havana back to health. She was brought to Oasis in 2019 to further her rehabilitation. We are still working on socialization skills as she is very fearful of humans. Our goal is to be able to handle her completely and let her live her life our here in peace.
